Christ is all Joy!!!

This blog was originally started to keep family & friends updated on Christel's condition. Learning to live our life with out Christel here on earth has been a roller coaster of emotions for our whole family. I decided to start posting again on this site because I do not want to forget I am and will always be Christel Joy's big sister and my joy and hope can only be found in the Lord.

Mother- A woman who conceives, gives birth to, or raises and nurtures a child.

Adopt- To choose or take as one’s own.

I have a confession to make!

The Tooth Fairy Fail...
Matthew lost his first tooth today!
I am good at many things...but this Tooth Fairy thing is a real struggle for me.  I did well when it was only the two girls.  Keeping up with the teeth and sneaking a dollar under the pillow was not that hard.  Then it began.  I woke up early and I realized the Tooth Fairy did not visit last night and that she was going to have to be real sneaky to get that tooth out and replace it with a dollar without waking the sleeping child in the early morning light.  Mission accomplished. Barely!!!
When more children began to join the family so began the Tooth Fairy's many requests and excuses.
  1. The Tooth Fairy must of flown by and saw you were not really asleep. (Mom tried to wait for everyone to go to sleep but fell asleep waiting.)
  2. She must have had a lot of teeth last night to exchange.  I am sure she will come tomorrow. (Mom laid down for just a moment and fell asleep last night.)
  3. I am sorry she did not come again last night I am sure she will tomorrow. (Because this Mom does not carry cash and forgot again to get change)
  4. You know I think maybe she could not find your tooth under your pillow so maybe we should tape it to your bed. (This after a harrowing experience of exchanging a tooth from a light sleeper)
  5. You know sometimes it falls off the bed because you move around so much let's put it on your dresser. (Trying to give easier access to the tooth so Mom does not wake the light sleepers.)
  6. Wow look here is your money the Tooth Fairy must have dropped it right here by your bed because she was in a hurry.  (Mom again realized she failed to to get change and she had to borrow from Grama and Papa and then dropped it on the floor as she was waking them up for the day)
  7. Look the Tooth Fairy came while we were gone this morning. (I am sure there was a good excuse for that one I just can't remember.)
  8. I think it would be a lot easier for the Tooth Fairy to find your tooth if we just tape it to your door. (No creaky doors to deal with this way.)
I am sure there are more excuses I have made for the Tooth Fairy's failure to show up, but these are a few that I can remember.  I really do feel bad when I forget. Especially more than once! I can only hope when the kids are older they will laugh about it and compare notes of the many excuses I gave for the Tooth Fairy failing to appear.
For now I have...I mean the Tooth Fairy has a job to do...let's just hope she has enough change and does not have to run down to the store!

Getting the tooth ready for the Tooth Fairy before bed.

All ready for the Tooth Fairy.
